Inceptum 2023

The Hansraj Economics Society is all set to host the 7th edition of its annual flagship event – Inceptum’23 on 6th May, 2023.

Inceptum is a highly anticipated annual event which attracts a large crowd of students and gives a platform to the participants to showcase their skills in the domain of economics . The event consists of four exciting competitions, which are- Samwaad, PowerPlay, Policypher, and a newly crafted event. Each competition is carefully curated to provide participants with a memorable and captivating experience.

One among the 4 enthralling competitions is Samwaad, an innovative competition that simulates policy-making discussions among participants. Instead of traditional debates, participants will engage in a mock NITI Aayog discussion which is bound to get heated.

Powerplay is yet another exciting competition that combines the thrill of cricket with the intricacies of economics. Participants would bid on players and challenge the odds, showcasing their creativity and strategic thinking to leave others amazed. It is one of the most popular events at DU, and always recieves a great response.

Policypher is not your usual case study competition and challenges participants to present optimum policy solutions to pressing economic issues with a twist. This competition tests the participants’ ability to analyze complex problems and develop practical solutions, which are essential skills for a career in economics.

In addition to these competitions, the event also features a new event every year, which is curated from scratch by the members of the society. This year, the society presents “Lost in Atlantis”, which presents a perfect opportunity for those fascinated by the legend of Atlantis. This event would require the participants to analyze a case study of resource allocation in Atlantis, identifying the challenges and opportunities and later on cite a policy to address the challenges identified.

All these competitions are conducted within the span of a single day which makes Inceptum a one of a kind economics festival. Inceptum happens to be the most intriguing event organized by the Economics Society at Hansraj College and sees the maximum footfall every year. To take forward the legacy, the society calls out for the budding economists to come up and register for the event this year as well, promising to provide them with a “one of its kind experience”.
