Exclusive Cover Story | Face Magazine
From redefining masculinity on the runway to commanding intensity on screen, Arjun Rampal has traversed the highs and depths of the entertainment world with a calm, deliberate grace. In this exclusive Face Magazine cover feature, the enigmatic star opens up like never before — on legacy, reinvention, love, and the rhythm of a quieter life.
On Legacy & Stardom
Q1: From being one of India’s first true male supermodels to becoming one of Bollywood’s most intense and compelling actors — how do you look back at this incredible journey?
“It’s been one of great learning — meeting and having had the opportunity to work with some great talent and minds. And it just continues. It’s a journey that constantly surprises me, makes me want to do better. Calmness, patience, and dignity have become my foundations.”
Q2: You’ve been a style icon for decades. How have you seen the definition of male stardom and style evolve from your modeling days to now?
“This is a question asked to me many times and every time I’ve tried answering it, I sounded like a complete moron to myself. So I’ll pass. Everyone has style; everyone’s style is personal.”
Q3: You’ve portrayed some truly layered characters on screen — brooding, broken, brilliant. What drives you to pick a role today?
“It’s the team. The thought. The writing. Becoming uncomfortable. Knowing it won’t be easy — that’s what pulls me in.”
Q4: With a career that spans modeling, acting, and producing — what phase of your creative life excites you most right now?
“I’ve had many experiences — wrestled with life, been pinned down, got up again and again. Only to realize: I don’t need to wrestle anymore. I just need to embrace it. That’s what I’ve been doing for the past 4–5 years. My choices now are influenced by this new version of me.”
On Reinvention & Future Vision
Q5: You’re an actor, entrepreneur, thinker — what’s the next evolution for Arjun Rampal?
“Making movies will always be top of my list. But I love the world of creativity. It makes me feel alive and complete. So whether it’s music, food, fitness, fashion, wellness — I’m open to exploring.”
Q6: As someone who’s witnessed the changing tides of cinema and celebrity culture — what do you think is the future of storytelling in India?
“We must invest in and encourage writers. At the end of the day, it’s all about a great story. Everything else will fall into place.”
On Art & Introspection
Q7: When the cameras are off — who is Arjun Rampal?
“A work in progress. I spend time with the people I trust. I’m becoming more conscious of my flaws, valuing nature, health. I play with my children, watch them grow. Go to bed with the person I love. I laugh with friends, cycle, swim, play sport. Nature refills me.”
Q8: Do you feel the roles that come to you now mirror your maturity and life experience? Or do you still enjoy surprising people with something unexpected?
“Yes, as one experiences more in life, certain parts do mirror those experiences. But I also love surprising myself — that’s when I know the audience will be surprised too. That’s satisfying.”
On Earthy Living & Philosophy
Q9 & Q10: You’ve embraced a quieter, nature-connected life in Goa. What has that taught you?
“That life is beautiful. When you’re surrounded by nature, breathing clean air, stopping to admire the creations of God — you feel closer to Him, and therefore to yourself. That brings gratitude. Once you’re in that state, all you need to do is manifest, breathe, and love.”
Q11: In an industry driven by speed, how do you stay aligned with a slower, more meaningful pace of life?
“It’s a misconception — or ignorance — that this industry is driven by speed. In fact, it demands tremendous patience. You can’t rush a good film. You can’t rush creativity. It must flow.”
Quick Glimpse: Timeless Arjun
Q12: One piece of advice to young Arjun Rampal stepping into modeling?
“There’s a line in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off: ‘Life moves fast. If you don’t stop and look around, you might miss it.’ That resonates with me now.
So my advice — there’s no substitute for hard work and honesty. Don’t fall into the FOMO trap. Hug your parents, siblings, friends. Love yourself. Life’s not easy — it’s not meant to be. Embrace it all.”
Q13: After all these years — what keeps you curious and inspired?
“My appetite and energy to learn.”
