Adarsh Kumar’s MoonDive: Engineering the Future with AI and Integrity

From Microsoft to Meta to MoonDive, Adarsh Kumar’s journey is a masterclass in execution, reinvention, and resilience. In this exclusive conversation with Face Magazine, Adarsh opens up about building an AI-first company, navigating the challenges of entrepreneurship, and the values that power MoonDive’s rapid ascent.

From Code to Creation: The Early Days

Adarsh Kumar’s passion for software engineering took root during his undergraduate studies in Computer Science. “By my second year, I wasn’t just learning to code — I was teaching others, participating in hackathons, and winning inter-college competitions,” he recalls. That joy of transforming logic into impactful products became his guiding principle.

His professional journey began in 2010 with Microsoft (via MAQ Software) in Hyderabad. A few years later, he relocated to the U.S. to continue building Microsoft partner products. There, his interest in data analytics deepened, leading him to Expedia in 2014, where he served as a Business Intelligence Engineer. The role allowed him to explore the synergy between data and global business.

In 2017, Adarsh joined Meta (then Facebook), working on revenue teams for Facebook and Instagram. Handling massive datasets and delivering insights to senior leadership refined his technical expertise and gave him a broader business perspective. His entrepreneurial spark, first lit in high school while organizing sports tournaments, never faded. Guided by mentors like Rakesh Gopalakrishnan at Expedia and Vish Agashe at Meta, and inspired by peers such as Ankit Maheshwari of Innovaccer, Adarsh was ready for his own venture.

In 2023, he left a secure, high-paying tech role to launch MoonDive. “I asked myself, ‘What would I do if I weren’t afraid?’ That question led me to entrepreneurship.”

Founding MoonDive: Building in the Age of AI

MoonDive was born at a pivotal moment in the software industry. “AI was no longer a feature — it was the foundation. We had the chance to build an AI-first software company from scratch,” says Adarsh.

MoonDive reimagines how software is planned, developed, and delivered. With tools like Cursor AI, Microsoft Copilot, CodeRabbit, and ChatGPT’s image capabilities, the team accelerated timelines, reduced rework, and enhanced efficiency. Projects that once took months were now completed in weeks.

Specializing in Real Estate, Recruitment, Dating, and Healthcare, MoonDive also supports enterprise AI startups in building MVPs rapidly. Their standout value? Delivering premium, production-grade AI products in under six weeks, at startup-friendly costs.

“Our edge lies in blending speed with quality,” Adarsh emphasizes. “We make enterprise-grade AI accessible, even for early-stage startups.”

First-Generation Entrepreneur: Leading Without a Legacy

“I’m the first entrepreneur in my family,” Adarsh shares. “There was no business to inherit, no legacy roadmap. That made the journey challenging, but thrilling.”

Building MoonDive from scratch demanded self-belief and resilience. Each strategic decision, product roadmap, and cultural principle stemmed from Adarsh’s own vision — not tradition. “The joy of building something meaningful from nothing surpasses continuing a legacy. It’s a legacy I’m proud to be creating.”

The MoonDive Way: Culture, Values, and Innovation

MoonDive is rooted in a few non-negotiable values:

  • Excellence: “I personally lead intensive engineering bootcamps inspired by Big Tech standards,” Adarsh says.
  • Transparency & Integrity: Open communication fosters trust and long-term client relationships.
  • Innovation: The team continually challenges norms to solve complex problems across data, AI, and mobile tech.
  • Human-First Collaboration: Despite its AI focus, MoonDive prioritizes human interactions over rigid structures.
  • No-Boss Culture: Hierarchies are flattened. Team players are valued more than individual rockstars.

Fostering Agility in a Rapidly Evolving World

Innovation isn’t just a goal at MoonDive — it’s a way of life. The team uses GenAI tools for coding, testing, design, and automation. Engineering bootcamps help upskill talent while a flexible, no-boss culture enables idea exchange and fast iteration.

“Our structure helps us adapt quickly and encourages bold, creative thinking,” Adarsh notes.

Lessons from the Trenches: Challenges That Shaped a Leader

Every phase of MoonDive has been a masterclass in leadership. “We’ve faced rework from early design missteps, scope creep, and even team turnover,” Adarsh shares.

These challenges taught him the importance of:

  • Planning with precision
  • Setting firm boundaries with clients
  • Automating workflows using GenAI
  • Investing in internal branding and balance

“For nearly two years, we built incredible solutions for others while neglecting our own website. That imbalance was a wake-up call.”

Each setback refined his leadership: “Resilience, clarity, and continuous improvement have become my core traits.”

The Road Ahead: MoonDive’s 5–10 Year Vision

By the end of 2025, MoonDive aims to reach $1M in ARR, backed by two proprietary AI products and external fundraising. Adarsh envisions MoonDive evolving into a product-centric company, with 80% of its team focused on internal platforms.

They plan to expand their Real Estate and startup-focused AI offerings like SaleIQ and deepen presence in the U.S., U.K., India, Africa, UAE, and Australia.

Advice for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

Adarsh offers clear advice: “Don’t wait for the perfect moment. Start now. Execution matters more than ideas. And most importantly, play the long game. Trust your gut. If you’re building something meaningful, keep going — the world will catch up.”

Beyond Business: The Man Behind the Mission

Adarsh draws energy from sports and physical fitness — whether it’s badminton, tennis, skiing, or hiking. He enjoys teaching, leads training sessions, and once even dabbled in fashion modeling. “These experiences keep me grounded, focused, and creative.”

Defining Success & Building a Legacy

“Success, to me, is when our products solve real problems and spark joy in our team, clients, and end users,” he reflects.

MoonDive is more than a tech company — it’s a mindset. “The legacy I hope to leave is the ‘MoonDive way’: solving complex challenges with simplicity, innovation, and human-first thinking.”
