TEDxSCMSPune successfully hosted their event themed “Beyond Binaries” on Friday, 20 September 2024 and it was without a doubt, one to remember. The world is not black and white, and the team at TEDxSCMSPune helped organize an event that not only showcased these complexities in life, but helped the audience understand how it is to live in that gray area, and how they already do.
The event featured a stellar lineup of 6 speakers from the key fields of Technology, Entertainment and Design, and each one of their talks was truly extraordinary. The event started off on an auspicious note, with the lighting of the lamp by the speakers present and the dignitaries from the institute. Following this, was the explanation of the theme, which featured a powerful video explaining the essence of the concept of Beyond Binaries. It left an impression on one and all, and set the stage for the rest of the event.
Then, the first speaker for the day, Mr. Mukesh Jain, who is the CTO and VP at Capgemini, talked about the importance of seemingly insignificant actions and things that might hold in the bigger picture. His talk focused on impact, on the individual and of the individual, and it was the perfect way to kick things off.
Mr. Priyanshu Modi, a gifted storyteller, writer and actor from Delhi talked about his stories and struggles growing up, and evoked reactions from the audience that were priceless.
Mr. Sarun Sasi, who is the former Lead UI/UX Designer at Third Wave Coffee, was instrumental in explaining the importance of a good user experience interface for any business. His work experience, which includes brands like Swiggy, Licious, Housing.com and many more household brands stunned everyone that heard him talk about user design.
Mr. Uttaran Nayak, the co-founder and CEO and Co-Founder of Alchemyst AI, inspired hundreds of attendees with his story of a normal engineering student to the founder of a huge AI startup. His talk focused on his journey and what AI holds for the near future.
Mr. Paul Sandip, celebrated industrial designer and co-founder of Paul Studio, talked about the power of good observations. Being the winner of the prestigious Red Dot Award Twice, and having over 1000+ registered patents, his experience with designing new products was something never heard of previously.
Lastly, Mr. Neeraj Goyat’s (who is a professional Indian boxer) talk, was the icing on the cake for this TEDx event. His words spoke to so many attendees on a personal level, as he talked about resilience, courage and determination in the face of adversity. His humorous style was enjoyed by one and all, and it marked a memorable end to the event.
The event would not be the same without stellar performances from SCMS Pune’s Dance and Music clubs – Step Up and Encore respectively. The performers bedazzled viewers and listeners alike with such energy, passion, enthusiasm and pomp.
The audience, who showed up in great numbers, enjoyed each and every part of the event as they witnessed inspiration, personified. To conclude, the entire Organising Committee was invited on the stage along with faculty and staff members for a group picture with the guests. The joy on their faces was palpable as they breathed in the fruits of their hard work.
Thus ended TEDxSCMSPune’24 – with memories cherished for an entire lifetime!
