National Human Resource Olympiad 2023: Empowering Future Leaders at Shri Ram College of Commerce

The Human Resource Development Cell at Shri Ram College of Commerce organised the National Human Resource Olympiad on June 3rd and 4th, 2023. This two-phase Olympiad examination catered to different students, with Phase-I focusing on students from class 9th to 12th, and Phase-II targeting undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The event provided an excellent platform for participants to enhance their skills and competencies in the field of human resource management. It offered individuals the opportunity to put their knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking skills to the test in HR-related scenarios. One of the primary objectives of the olympiad was to promote human resource management as a viable and rewarding career choice. By creating awareness about the importance of HR in organizations and showcasing the diverse opportunities available in this field, the event aimed to inspire and encourage participants to pursue careers in HR. This initiative truly reflected the motto of the cell: “Enable,Edify,Empower” and proved to be remarkable in its own right.

The success of the Olympiad was attributed to the valuable contributions of its partners and sponsors. Platform Partner “Shinkan”,an AI-based proctoring technology, enabling institutions, corporates and gamers to tackle the challenges of mal-practices and impersonation in online exams, recruitments and gaming played a crucial role . Associate Sponsor “HDFC Credila”, India’s First Dedicated Education Loan Company pioneering the concept of specialist Education Loan lender and contributing towards Transforming Lives and Building the Nation! made significant contributions in making the olympiad successful. Online Media coverage done by the Media Partner “DailyHunt”,  an Indian content and news aggregator application providing local language content in 14 Indian languages from multiple content increased awareness about the National Human Resource Olympiad (NHRO) and attracted a large number of students to participate. The Cell also acknowledged FACE Magazine as the Magazine Partner and Pouls of Art and Ayouthveda as the Gifting Partners for their tremendous support in making the event a success.

Turning our attention to the olympiad pattern and structure, Phase-I included questions from various domains such as commerce, logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, and current affairs. In contrast, Phase-II focused on the concepts and theories of Human Resource Management, Business World, Economics and Public Policy. The Cell ensured a comprehensive coverage of questions, challenging participants to apply their knowledge and analytical skills. Each phase allotted a time limit of 1 hour to complete the examination with 60 questions to answer in Phase-I and 75 questions in Phase-II.  Participants had differing opinions on the difficulty level, with some finding it moderate and others appreciating the intriguing nature and interesting sequence of the questions. These varied perspectives reflected the diverse experiences of the participants.

Overall, NHRO proved to be a captivating and insightful event. It successfully provided a platform for participants to grow and excel in the field of HR, thanks to the contributions of dedicated partners and sponsors. With its well-structured examination and comprehensive question coverage, the Olympiad showcased the immense talent and potential within the field of human resource management.
