In the bustling corridors of the Indian film industry, a name that stands out with grace, talent, and an undeniable charm is Mrunal Thakur. Known for her impeccable portrayals of characters like Sita, Sonia, Yashna, Ananya, and Adhira, Mrunal has carved a niche for herself, becoming a beloved figure on the silver screen. With her million-dollar smile, nuanced acting, and a simplicity that resonates with many, she has won the hearts of audiences and critics alike. In an exclusive interview with Face Magazine, Mrunal shares insights into her journey, her roles, and the essence of romance in her life.

Queen of Romance

With films like Sita Ramam to Hi Nanna, Mrunal Thakur has been crowned the Queen of Romance by her fans. When asked how romantic she is in real life, she smiles and explains, “To me, romance is all about the small gestures, the simple acts of kindness – being thoughtful, attentive, and genuinely caring for your loved ones.” Her belief in love mirrors the characters she plays, emphasizing that true romance is found in everyday acts of love and care.

A Journey with Sonia

One of Mrunal’s standout performances was in Love Sonia. The role of Sonia was a profound experience for her. “Landing the role of Sonia was a profound experience for me. The casting of the film was critical for the makers, as the entire story centers on the anguished Sonia’s experiences, so they were on the lookout for the perfect Sonia,” she recalls. The rigorous casting process involved auditioning 2,500 girls across different cities, and Mrunal emerged as the chosen one. To sync with the character, she immersed herself deeply in Sonia’s world, understanding her struggles and resilience. Her dedication to portraying Sonia authentically was evident, and it earned her widespread acclaim.

Choosing the Right Endorsements

As an influential personality, Mrunal is discerning about the brands she endorses. She looks for brands that align with her values and principles, emphasizing the importance of supporting products and companies she genuinely believes in. “I consider a brand’s commitment to quality, and its impact on society and the environment,” she notes. This thoughtful approach ensures that her endorsements are authentic and resonate with her audience.

Relating to Her Characters

When asked which character she relates to the most, Mrunal finds it hard to pick just one. Each character, from Sita to Sonia, holds a special place in her heart. However, she admits that the hardest characters to play are often the simplest ones. “I like playing challenging roles, and characters with depth because it gives me a lot of material to play around with,” she explains, highlighting her passion for exploring complex roles.

Mentorship and Wisdom

Mrunal attributes a significant part of her success to the mentorship of director Tabrez Noorani. One piece of advice from Noorani has stuck with her: “Mrunal, irrespective of the production, crew or stars attached to a project, if the story doesn’t resonate with you…do not do it.” This wisdom guides her in choosing roles that she can truly connect with, ensuring that her performances are genuine and impactful.

Fashion and Personal Style

When it comes to fashion, Mrunal’s must-haves revolve around timeless classics. She loves simple yet elegant outfits, often opting for an all-black look or a crisp white shirt paired with denim. Her footwear choices range from comfortable Jordans to chic stilettos, reflecting her versatile style. Gold-plated jewelry is her go-to for accessories, capturing the beauty of simplicity.

Unwinding and Personal Time

Off-screen, Mrunal finds solace in travel and spending time with loved ones. An annual girls’ trip with her best friend is a non-negotiable tradition she cherishes. “Besides traveling, if I get some time off, I spend time with my cat and my family, or you’ll catch me sleeping,” she says with a laugh, revealing her love for quality time in slumberland.

From Television to Film

Mrunal’s journey from television to film has been a rewarding one. She credits her television beginnings for solidifying her foundation in acting. “Starting your career in television is like learning to drive a car in Mumbai; if you learn here, you can do well anywhere,” she says, emphasizing the diverse experiences and learning opportunities television provided.

Dream Collaborations

Mrunal has a long list of dream collaborators, both Indian and international. She dreams of being a superhero in a Marvel film and starring in a Star Wars movie. On her wish list are directors like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Vasan Bala, Imtiaz Ali, Zoya Akhtar, Aditya Dhar, Sameer Vidwan, and the duo Raj & DK. Her passion and determination to work with these talented individuals are evident, and she is ready to give her all to achieve these dreams.

Effortless Beauty and Style

The secret to Mrunal’s effortless style and beauty lies in her genes and her mother’s care. She attributes her good skin and hair to the traditional beauty practices her mother instilled in her. Confidence and acceptance of one’s body also play a crucial role in her effortless style, something her dedicated team helps her maintain.

Finding Peace

For Mrunal, peace is found in the water. Swimming is her way of getting some peaceful “me-time,” allowing her to lose herself in the moment and enjoy the calming effects of the water. Mrunal Thakur’s journey is a testament to her talent, hard work, and authenticity. With her dedication to her craft and her genuine personality, she continues to be a shining star in the Indian film industry, inspiring many with her performances and her approach to life
