Madhurima Tuli, the Star Shining Bright on Screen and Beyond

Madhurima Tuli is a popular name of the Indian telly industry. She has been part of several popular shows and has impressed fans with her performance in popular Television shows such as “Kumkum Bhagya” and “Chandrakanta”. She also participated in various popular reality shows such as “Big Boss”, “Nach Baliye” and “Khatron Ke Khiladi”. Her first Hollywood venture came in 2017 where she played the younger version of Shabana Azmi (Maharaja Duleep Singh’s mother) in the film “The Black Prince”.
She is photogenic to the core, having amazing flawless features. The aura that she exudes in her fashion and styling is simply superlative. Let’s know more about her secret to stay fit, the most challenging character till date, mantra to staying positive and her dream role.

A lot of actors have come forward and admitted that there was a certain stigma attached with TV actors who want to take a leap to the big screen. Were there instances where you felt that the industry was treating you differently?

Earlier, there definitely used to be a stigma attached with TV actors who wanted to take a leap to the big screen but now because of OTT, I think it’s become a lot easier for TV actors to step
in. Luckily, I had to never face any kind of backlash or bad treatment because I’m a TV actor. They’ve always welcomed me with open arms.

Celebrity fitness secrets have always been the talk of the town, especially since they have extremely busy schedules. How do you manage to stay fit and what advice would you give to the younger generation who blindly follows trends and tutorials?

It is difficult to stay fit and healthy in this busy schedule but whenever I get time, I make sure I do yoga or go for a jog because being fit is very important; that’s how you’ll continue living longer. And for the young generation who’s blindly following trends, I’d say that it’s not going to help you in the long run. If you want to live longer and stay fit, you need to stick to a particular gym routine where you don’t really do a lot of heavy exercises and rely on unhealthy supplements. You should totally avoid those things. Instead, have a balanced diet and keep your calories in check. These are a few important things that can help you stay fit without compromising your health.

Every artist goes through highs and lows in their personal and professional life. What is your mantra to stay positive in life?
My mantra to stay calm is “this too shall pass”. There are highs and there are lows as well, so, if I’m in a low state at the moment, I’m sure that after some time, this was pass and I will get a high in my life. So, just have patience, believe in God, work on yourself and enjoy the journey.

When we think about fashionable actresses in the industry, your name is bound to come under that list. What all things do you keep in mind when you dress up?

Well, thank you! I think I’d pick a dress that’ll look good on my body, represent my personality and also, a colour which suits me and makes me happy. Since you’re going in front of so many people, you have to look confident and be yourself. So, I’d choose those outfits where I’m “me”.

Out of all the characters you’ve played so far, which one has been the most challenging one for you?

I think Chandrakanta has to be the most challenging because I was a warrior princess and she had a lot of action sequences where I’m flying from one place to another. On top of that, there were some heavy dialogues, huge ones – like one page long proper Hindi dialogues, which was like ancient age Hindi. So, that’s something which was very challenging for me but I had the most fun playing Chandrakranta.

What is your dream role?

There are so many women out there in our country who’ve proved themselves and changed the scenario of India. So, I think if I ever get an opportunity, I’d like to do a biography on one such woman.

How would you describe your journey of being a part of the entertainment industry and what will give you a sense of fulfilment in your professional life?

My journey has been quite entertaining. There have been some highs and lows but that’s a part of your life. How you take it further and improve yourself and focus on your goals is all that matters. It’s been quite fulfilling also but somehow I feel that during my initial days, I was pretty laid back and didn’t focus much on my work, the way I’m doing now. So, maybe once I do a lot more work I’ll feel fulfilled but right now, I’m still craving for more work.
