From her debut in Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi to her latest performance in Gaslight, Chitrangda Singh’s journey in cinema has been both profound and transformative. Over the years, she has navigated a diverse array of characters and genres, each one contributing to her growth as an actor and an individual.

“I’ve had the privilege of exploring a wide range of characters and narratives,” she shares. “Each project has offered invaluable experiences, and I’m deeply grateful for the growth and lessons that have come with it.”

The Characters That Stayed with Her

Chitrangda reflects on the characters that have left a lasting emotional impact on her. One such role is Geeta from Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi. “The depth and nuance of that character stayed with me,” she says. Another role that challenged her was Inkaar, where she explored the complexities of power dynamics and gender. “A part of every character stays with you, sometimes unexpectedly.”

Behind the Camera: The Real Chitrangda Singh

When asked who Chitrangda is off-screen, she reveals a quieter side. “Off-camera, I’m someone who appreciates life’s quieter moments. I enjoy being in nature, reading, or spending quality time with close friends and family,” she says, emphasizing the importance of grounding herself away from the limelight.

Exciting Projects Ahead

Looking forward, Chitrangda has some thrilling projects in the pipeline, including the much-anticipated Housefull 5. “It’s always a great experience working with Akshay Kumar—we share an incredible chemistry on screen,” she shares. While there are other projects she is excited about, she remains tight-lipped for now, teasing fans with what’s to come.

Busting Myths About the Actor’s Life

Chitrangda also takes the opportunity to clear up some common misconceptions about actors. “One major myth is that actors have glamorous, easy lives. People often overlook the hard work, long hours, and emotional toll it takes to bring characters to life,” she says. Another myth? “Actors aren’t always confident. We have our insecurities and moments of doubt, just like everyone else.”

Beyond Acting: Her Creative Expression Through Dance

Outside of acting, Chitrangda finds solace in another form of art—dance. “It’s a form of expression that allows me to connect with myself on a deeper level,” she shares, highlighting how dance helps her maintain balance in her life.

Coping with the Chaos

The demanding nature of the film industry often leads to erratic schedules, but Chitrangda has found her own ways to cope. “Yoga and meditation are my favorite ways to unwind,” she reveals. “I also love getting lost in a good book, which helps me step away from the chaos.”

Fashion as a Narrative Tool

Chitrangda speaks about the integral role that fashion and costumes play in an actor’s journey. “Fashion and costumes allow an actor to fully step into the character,” she says. Personally, she defines her style as “timeless with a contemporary edge.”

What She Loves Watching

In her downtime, Chitrangda enjoys binge-watching thrillers and documentaries. “There’s something so gripping about the suspense of a well-done thriller,” she says. She also appreciates content that challenges her perspective, which is why documentaries are often her go-to.

The Drive Behind Her Acting

What fuels Chitrangda’s passion for acting? “I love diving deep into the psyche of my characters and understanding what motivates them,” she explains. Her preparation process includes extensive research, observing people, and understanding the emotional core of her roles.

Insights from the Indian Film Industry

Having spent years in the industry, Chitrangda reflects on her biggest takeaway: “The film industry is ever-changing, and there is always more to learn. It’s a space where creativity knows no bounds, and I feel fortunate to be part of a fraternity that constantly pushes the boundaries of storytelling.”

What ‘Home’ Means to Her

For Chitrangda, home isn’t just a physical place—it’s an emotional space. “Home, for me, is wherever my loved ones are. It’s that place of comfort, peace, and love, where I can truly be myself,” she says, underscoring the importance of her personal relationships.
