BMW Group and Tata Technologies Establish BMW TechWorks India: Revolutionizing Automotive Software & Business IT

Munich, Germany and Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai, India – In an exciting development for the automotive and technology sectors, BMW Group and Tata Technologies have officially launched their joint venture, BMW TechWorks India. This partnership aims to push the boundaries of automotive software innovation and business IT. With a strategic presence in India’s major tech hubs — Pune, Bengaluru, and Chennai — the new entity will leverage India’s impressive pool of tech talent to develop cutting-edge solutions for Software-Defined Vehicles (SDV) and drive the BMW Group’s digital transformation.

The joint venture will initially employ 100 experts across its three locations, with ambitious plans to grow this number to a four-digit workforce by the end of 2025. India’s skilled engineers will develop software for next-generation vehicles, focusing on automated driving, advanced infotainment systems, and digital services that cater to global consumers.

In addition to automotive software, BMW TechWorks India will also focus on business IT innovations that will help transform BMW’s global production network, improve customer journeys, and enhance sales processes.
