Isha & Timmy

Isha Koppikar Narang and Timmy Narang’s love story has all the trappings of a textbook romance. They even ended up ‘happily ever after’. FACE’s managing editor, Neha Sachar Mittal caught up with the couple to talk about being soulmates and all things love.

1.What is Timmy and your “jab we met” story?

We met at a food tasting event and we both are foodies. Timmy had his restaurants so he would keep inviting me for his events and I kept going. We would also bump and meet at the gym in Bandra since we both are health freaks. So love blossomed as the friendship grew.

2. Do you think love conquers all?

Love and respect I would say conquer all. I think love can take a backseat sometimes but if there is enough space, it always comes back, and then things are great again.

3. What is your opinion are the pros and cons of marrying within the industry v/s outside it?

There are pros and cons in every industry. It’s to each their own. I can’t say what would work for someone and I can’t generalize one standard thing. One definitely needs to see if the partner respects them enough and gives space and if he or she wants to be there in the good and bad times.

4. What are the perks of marrying your best friend?

We weren’t best friends when we married. I knew him for a little more than a year but we had amazing chemistry. There are many upsides to marrying your best friend if you do get to. They know you inside out. They understand you much more than anyone else. You can clear your mind and be in a great headspace just by being around and being just truly yourself.

5. What is the one thing that’s most important to make a relationship last- honesty, comparability, or love?

Respect and space are two for me. The love will eventually come. If someone respects you enough he or she will give you the time and space to flourish.

6. Your relationship advice to the ‘zoomers’?

Have some patience and let the future unfold. The gen z rushes on to everything and that’s not taking things anywhere. They want everything instantly. Love ain’t like cooking Maggi you see.

7. From Taj Mahal to proposals on Tiktok… Do you think the meaning of love has changed over the years?

It definitely has in some sense. But predominantly, love is love. It makes us smile without a reason, makes us do things we think are impossible. Makes us stick together even when the world is against us. Wishing everyone a very happy valentine’s day.
