Defense Minister Rajnath Singh And Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis To Grace Sadhguru’s 33rd Isha Mahashivratri Celebrations

On 15 February 2026, the sacred grounds of the Isha Foundation at the Isha Yoga Center will come alive with an extraordinary convergence of spirituality, culture, music, and national leadership as Mahashivratri unfolds under the guidance of yogi and mystic Sadhguru.

This year’s grand celebration will be graced by Hon’ble Defence Minister Rajnath Singh as Chief Guest, alongside prominent dignitaries including Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis. The event will also see in attendance I&B and Parliamentary Affairs Minister L Murugan and other prominent dignitaries.

A Global Spiritual Phenomenon

Mahashivratri at Isha has evolved into a landmark event on the international spiritual calendar. The 12-hour night-long celebration is expected to reach over 140 million viewers globally, broadcast live across more than 100 television channels and digital platforms in 23 Indian and international languages.

The event begins at 6 PM IST on 15 February, streamed live on Sadhguru’s YouTube channels and major media networks, making this sacred night accessible to millions across continents.

Sacred Rituals & Grand Processions

The evening commences with the Pancha Bhuta Kriya at the Dhyanalinga — a powerful cleansing ritual honoring the five elements: earth, water, fire, air, and space. The spiritual energy intensifies with the Linga Bhairavi Maha Yatra, a majestic procession celebrating the divine feminine, infusing the atmosphere with devotion and vibrancy.

For the first time, Sadhguru will personally conduct the Yogeshwara Linga Maha Abhishekam, a sacred ritual offering global devotees a rare opportunity to connect with this consecrated energy form.

Adiyogi Divya Darshanam: A Visual & Spiritual Spectacle

A major highlight of the night is Adiyogi Divya Darshanam, a breathtaking light and sound show that brings the iconic 112-foot Adiyogi statue to life. Inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2017, Adiyogi stands as a towering symbol of yogic science and inner transformation.

Narrated by Sadhguru, the immersive experience recounts the origins of yoga, filling the vast expanse with awe and reverence for the tens of thousands present and the millions watching worldwide.

A Night Pulsing with Music & Culture

The celebration seamlessly blends ancient traditions with contemporary artistic expressions.

Featured Performances Include:

  • Aditya Gadhvi – Bringing the raw, soul-stirring energy of Gujarati folk.

  • Prashant Sonagra and team – A thunderous traditional and folk drum collaboration.

  • Sounds of Isha – Isha’s in-house musical ensemble.

  • Swaroop Khan, Blaaze, and Paradox – Fusing folk rhythms with contemporary soundscapes.

  • Artists Swagat Rathod and Prithvi Gandharv – Creating powerful musical tapestries that transcend genres.

Yaksha: A Prelude of Classical Excellence

Leading up to Mahashivratri, Isha’s vibrant classical arts festival, Yaksha, celebrates India’s rich cultural heritage with stellar performances:

  • 12 FebruaryPurbayan Chatterjee (Hindustani Sitar)

  • 13 FebruaryBharat Sundar (Carnatic Vocal)

  • 14 FebruaryVaibhav Arekar (Bharatanatyam)

These performances build the spiritual and artistic momentum leading into the Great Night of Shiva.

Midnight Meditation & Cosmic Alignment

At the stroke of midnight, Sadhguru will initiate participants into the Mahamantra, guiding thousands into a heightened state of awareness.

During Brahma Muhurtam (3:40 AM), seekers will be led through a powerful meditation designed to harness the night’s unique planetary alignment — believed to amplify spiritual growth.

Known as the “Great Night of Shiva,” Mahashivratri marks a rare planetary configuration where the natural upsurge of energy within the human system reaches its peak. The Isha Yoga Center’s location at the foothills of the Velliangiri Mountains — often referred to as the “Kailash of the South” — lies at approximately eleven degrees latitude, a geographical position Sadhguru explains as energetically significant due to the planet’s tilt and centrifugal forces.

A Confluence of Spirituality & Public Life

Over the years, Mahashivratri at Isha has hosted global dignitaries, cultural icons, and spiritual leaders. With the presence of Rajnath Singh and other national leaders in 2026, the event further reinforces its role as a rare meeting point between spirituality and public life.

Devotees and seekers from across the world are invited to stay awake and aware through the night — either in person at the Isha Yoga Center or through the global livestream.
