Mumbai came alive with creativity and elegance on November 24th, 2024, as Face Magazine, in collaboration with Anveshi – Vintage Gems and Art Gallery, hosted an extraordinary cultural evening at Atria, The Millennium Mall, Worli. This much-anticipated event marked the inauguration of a week-long art exhibition, blending visual art, poetry, and heritage jewelry to create an unforgettable experience for the city’s connoisseurs of culture.
The exhibition, which runs until December 1st, 2024, showcases a symphony of talent, featuring the cosmic-inspired paintings of Madhuri Bhaduri, the soulful creations of Hungarian artist Ildiko Morovszki Halasz, and the eloquent poetry of Sunit Srimal.
A Journey Through Art and Emotion
The evening began with a curated tour of the featured artworks, setting the stage for an immersive cultural experience.
Madhuri Bhaduri’s spellbinding series, Lunarscapes, invited viewers to journey through the mysteries of the moon. Her masterful portrayal of lunar phases offered a fresh perspective on celestial beauty, weaving together science, spirituality, and art. Audiences were left in awe of her ability to encapsulate the universe’s grandeur with such finesse, solidifying her reputation as a modern-day Prajapati.
Ildiko Morovszki Halasz, a celebrated Hungarian artist, presented Spirit of the Lady, a powerful tribute to womanhood. Inspired by the strength and resilience of Shakti, her works resonated deeply with viewers, celebrating the grace and determination of working women. The art stirred emotions, providing a profound narrative of femininity that was both universal and deeply personal.
Poetry That Speaks to the Soul
Adding a lyrical dimension to the evening, Sunit Srimal, a jeweller-poet carrying a legacy since 1902, recited poetry inspired by the featured artists.
In tribute to Madhuri Bhaduri’s Lunarscapes, Srimal presented the following verse:
The space above, the moon, so known,
Since a child, the mystic zone.
Lullabies mom used were all so our own,
For it’s now that the metaphors have got their tones.
Put on canvas by some colors bright,
Reveals the cosmic world in the arty light.
To fathom the wonder and its awe,
To admire its beauty in the celestial law.
Gravity explained, the physicist try,
The crust, the matter, still so shy.
What lies beneath is marvel’s cry,
The explore, the landing, was it a lie?
Come, enjoy the jolly with the artist,
I call her Prajapati, in colloquial twist.
No astronauts required, no satellite cysts,
She lets her brush knock any fists.
How else such cosmic awe to explain?
Her mind has ruled the imaginative train.
The speed traveled, yet portrayed, is our game,
We thank her for the bliss obtained.
Every phase and rotational spot,
With cosmic play and the solar dot.
Eclipses, parabolas, are all now in our bot,
No doubt, Prajapati is the title she has got.

For Our Dear Artist Ildiko
When I swim the river,
The ocean calls.
The space I seek
Is heavenly and tall.
Every second sublime,
And clarity applauds
Amidst the clutter—
Such spiritual halls.
Yes, to reach the goals.
But what about the sadhu beneath I hold?
The brush, the thoughts—artistry is gold.
For now, the space for feelings to unfold.
The canvas, the board, is the zone
Where moods and swings to which we are prone—
When put in colors, the within is shown.
Every day, judgments now in dots.
Her journey mapped across the globe,
The spirit of the lady now in strokes.
The months span, the cycles, to withstand,
Yet on the move—that’s her brand.
Shakti, the mother of strength—
To thou we bow, full length.
For you inspire the fight, inspire the dots.
